Autism

The new autism unit is a residential post-16 provision for young people
on the Autism Spectrum.

Our aim is to enable students with specific learning difficulties and sometimes
challenging behaviour to develop academic, social and independent skills.

A targeted approach using AS friendly strategies focuses on therapy support,
appropriate educational and practical skills programme. Courses and activities
will include access to college, basic skills, social skills, travel training, community awareness, essential living skills and work experience.

The new autism unit will open in spring 2010.

Call our Referral and Amdissions line to discuss your student's or child's needs.
