Ballater House

Ballater House is an enhanced MDT led residential care home with 24 hour nursing which offers support and developmental programmes for service users with moderate to severe learning disabilities who present with challenging behaviours as well as complex needs.

The majority of the service users have a dual diagnosis, with the primary diagnosis being a learning disability. The secondary diagnosis may include mental illness, borderline personality disorder or an autistic spectrum condition.

The service consists of 3 independent living areas, detailed below;

  • 3 self contained living areas  
    - Mercury 5 beds (high support unit)
    - Pluto 6 beds
    - Saturn 5 beds
  • Male & female, 18 – 65
  • 24 hour nursing
  • Individualised Occupational Therapy programme, focused
    on developing daily living skills and independence
  • Structured day therapeutic approach to develop living and
    independence skills
  • 1:1 and group psychology sessions
  • Clinics with a psychiatrist
  • Community access, integration and vocational placements
  • Therapy rooms, OT kitchens, laundry rooms and active outside space
