Langford Centre

The Langford Centre provides secure environment for patients, specialising forensic history and/or challenging behaviour of patients. Patients can move from low secure provision to lower security – intensive locked rehabilitation unit –
whilst being supported by the same multi-disciplinary team. Community-based housing in close proximity to the Langford centre provide the last step in patient’s care pathway before independent or semi-independent living in the community.

  • Enhanced low secure – male only – 14 beds
  • Low secure – female only – 33 beds
  • Low secure – male only – 14 beds
  • Locked Intensive Rehabilitation – mixed – Highwoods ward – 8 beds

Low Secure Provision

  • Forensic specialisation & risk reduction programme
  • Risk assessment and risk reduction programme
  • Self-medication programme
  • MOHO-based psycho-social interventions

Intensive Locked Rehabilitation

  • A specialist rehabilitation programme leading to the community or appropriate long term placement.
  • Focus on developing daily living skills, coping strategies and relapse prevention
  • Structured day therapy
  • Access to vocational & educational projects
