Shepherds Corner is a well established, small enhanced residential care home, located in the London Borough of Croydon providing 24 hour care and support for adults with mild to severe learning disabilities who may have associated mental health needs and/or physical disabilities.

We can also provide support and care for service users who have physical disabilities which impact on their mobility requiring assistance from staff to support their personal care needs on an ongoing basis.

On admission, service users benefit from individually planned care delivered by skilled and compassionate care staff in a homely environment. The staff team, whilst standard in its composition for a social care service is enhanced with support provided by disciplines such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Psychiatry. In the event that we are unable to provide specific health services, we are able to refer service users to the local Joint Community Learning Disabilities Team.

We provide a homely, comfortable environment which promotes person centred care ensuring active involvement of the service users themselves as well as their relatives, friends, health care professionals and other stakeholders, wherever possible.

We ensure all staff at Shepherds Corner embrace current initiatives such as the Dignity Challenge as well as promoting the engagement of agencies like VoiceAbility and other community groups. We fully subscribe to the principles of ‘Valuing People’ and the Personalisation Agenda.

As Shepherds Corner is located in a residential area of Croydon, service users are able to access the town centre using various types of transport as well as local specialist colleges and resources. The Home is within close proximity of Croydon University Hospital, where we are able to utilise the hydrotherapy pool to assist those service users with limited or deteriating mobility.

Whilst we are keen to promote community access, a number of in house activities are provided within the Home throughout the week, such as art and drama sessions and Yoga, delivered by qualified instructors.

We may look traditional but we offer a great service with significant ‘added value’ at a truly competitive rate as Shepherds Corner is part of a wider group benefiting from all the additional specialist services available.
